Violence Against Women and Girls Research and Program Developer
Creating Hope Society is seeking for a full time researcher/program developer for the Violence Against Women and Girls 3 year project. The researcher will address the range of barriers and provide factors that limit Aboriginal efforts to address the issue of violence against women and girls. The researcher must be able to work in collaboration with its partners and stakeholders: First Nation and Metis community leaders, Urban and rural communities, Elders, education institutions and well as with community members at large.
The Key Task project includes:
• Engage, collaborate and establish partnerships
• Create awareness, promote the project
• Create a 3 year workplan
• Plan and adapt project to the needs of young Aboriginal Women and Girls.
• Develop and disseminate community plan
• Implement community plan
• Identify community gaps, resources and supports
• Identify and find strategies to reduce number of violence
Competency Profile
• Essential: Strategic Thinking, Excellent analytical skills and a strong strategic perspective, able to develop and disseminate program to all.
• Manage project: Well developed organizational skills; research and program ability research and other resources and a focus on delivering tangible results to meet set deadlines.
• Communications: Excellent communication skills; influential, proactive, approachable, and adept at leading to consensus a wide cross-section of experts and organisations. Convincing and persuasive on paper and orally.
• Equalities: Strong understanding of gender equality, human rights, and their connexion to violence against women, as well as proposal goals and outcomes.
• Desirable: It would be an advantage to have previous experience in the field of violence against women or related prevention activity.
A Bachelor’s/ Master Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field of study which is likely to contribute to successful performance of the position. (Need on file)
Additional Requirements: Crime and child welfare check, copy of a 2 million dollar car insurance, copy of drivers license, copy of drivers abstract, first aid (optional)
Salary Range from $48,000 to $52,000 per year
